At last, Houston has an art school for students seeking professional training in illustration and fine art. If you have always wanted to enhance your talents and creative abilities by learning basic and/or special techniques that professionals use, the Houston School of Art and Design can give you the artistic map to reach your destination, without the commitment of long-term school enrollment or major financial expense. Emphasis is placed on developing each student's own creativity and talent. Lessons are based on the elements of art; color, line, texture, form, contrast and space.

The Houston School of Art and Design was co-founded in July 1994 by Charles "Charlie" Brown and Shawn Carson. Brown and Carson - along with a team of working professional illustrators and designers - hold courses at the school for adults, teens and children. They give students the personal attention necessary to reach their individual goals.
Convenient Course Schedules...
A variety of classes are available to choose from, including morning, mid-day, afternoon, and evening, Monday through Thursday, and Saturday. Registration is ongoing, so you may enroll and begin classes at any time!
